people use kits to bolt there 4.6 intake onto a 5.4 all the time when doing a swap into a mustang.

Lets see one. Why in the world would they do that ? You must referring to adapter plates, but that's not why or what they're for.

The only way to bolt a 4.6 intake to a 5.4 is with the adapter plates. The only time they're ever used is for Mustangs swapping in a 5.4 longblock so they can use a Mustang intake. Any other time, it makes no sense.

Exactly. - For a truck it makes no sense either. A mustang is more less a go cart (A very nice go-cart lol) with a motor, - very light. A much heavier truck, you need a truck intake. Weight and intake design plays a very BIG part in developing usable torque and horse power per vehicle weight.

A Mustang, - yea, you can do it. I believe Mad Enterprises originally designed the adapters for that, - quite awhile ago. For Mustangs.

A Truck,- it doesn't make sense, -your low end would diaper.
