4.2l to 4.6l v8 swap
Hey I have a 4.2l v6 and I'm gonna do a 4.6p v8 swap on my f150 4.6l came from a 97 grand marquis and so I checked the engine bay and the grand marquis.motor and harness seem to plug Into the f150s engine bay wire harness so I seems like plug and play guys. Now are there and oppositions as to y this shouldnt be because I've talked to plenty of people who've done this swap may I hear it from you guys and btw my motor one day out of nowhere started spewing out white ****en smoke out of the exhaust and I started losing oil pressure and performance so I assumed the bifch was blown but something else tells me itz a piston.ring what is yalls thoughts on that the motor still cranks over and wants to fire but wont sounds really weak on the turn over but I dont know fellas which is why I bought the 4.6.l In Hope's of v8 swap but any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Before you get crazy with this, what transmission are you going to use since the 4.2 and 4.6 use different bell housing patterns, They won't bolt from one to the other.

You r going to have transmission wiring problems. You will first have to repin the harness. Also digital vs analog speedo, so no speedometer.

before 99 model trucks, and 99 in Crown Vics is an early design. The tech changed, so a lot of stuff isn't PnP before then. 97-98 trucks are worse than your 99-03 models.
Hell, you can do anything, with time and money. A SBF motor bolts to your transmission. Just saying....

a 99 up trans to the 4.6 would cure a lot of problems. the throttle cable may be a problem
