302 Swap in 97 F150
I have a 97 f150 with the 4.6l and I was wondering if anyone on here has swapped the 4.6 with a 302, if so how hard was it and what transmission and parts are needed. I prefer manual transmission recommendations. Thanks

It wouldn't be that bad, - if you swapped everything else as well. Gutting the cab and swapping in all pre 10th generation components. Not sure if the dash will fit ?
Added up, it's a lot of work to install a lessor V8, but if that's all you have to work with, it might be doable.

Really ? Well, honestly, it's not worth the hassle, expense and time. Two very different platforms. Better off just going with an 8th or 9th gen.

Not worth it IMO. You would be way ahead to sell your truck and buy an older gen with the 302.

I love the 302... It's my favorite motor. But ain't no way possible that I could come to terms with making this mistake. Is it possible? Yes. What would you need? A welder, a sawzall, and a 5.0 Explorer.
I could see wanting to oust a 3V, but the 2V is not bad. Overall, the 4.6 is much much stronger than a SBF.
