3" Body Lift questions
I have a 98 5.4 4x4 and I am looking to put a 3" body lift on it. I would love to fit 37s on it, but will most likely end up with 35s.
Im wondering what else has to be done for the body lift. Like moving the fan shroud up etc...
I would love to see some pics of 3" body lifts with 35s or 37s.
Thanks guys!! Look forward to seeing some awesome trucks
Heres mine as of now. On 285s/17

Your gonna have to extend your steering leakage. And brake lines maybe? And get new shocks your stock ones are not long enough. and I'm sure there are other things but that's all I know

Alright here it is, I have a 1998 regular cab with a 3" body, performance accessories sells the kit and will come with everything you need. contrary to popular belief body lifts are more difficult than suspension lifts to install, a 12 pack (if old enough) and a buddy to assist and a good day is what it will take. You do not have to have a drop pitman or anything additional, I put it on in 98 so its been along time, the only thing that I need that the kit didn't come with was I had to take out my gearshifter and have a machine shop make a 3" extension for it (just preference) I didn't have to do that. you are correct fan shroud has to be relocated, no brake line extensions just relocated them I believe, the steering colum will extend out far enough nothing crazy there. you will need about 15 cinder blocks a couple of jack stands and some type of semi hard/soft rubber to sit the body on.

I made my own kit (kinda) and just got done installing it not that long ago, month or so. NEED: move fan shroud down 3 inch, 3 inch steering shaft extender, fuel line to tank needs extension, nothing needed for brake lines, need a bracket to move your transmission shift linkage up, and brackets to relocate bumpers. Thats all my friends. Besides the lift blocks. Its worth it

I have the same truck you do, except mine is the 4.6 v8. I added a 3" body lift on my truck and i have 35"s under it now and it fits perfectly. I would not recommend the 37s because it will just rub. BUt check out my pictures with the 35s and body lift for an idea. it has a good stance
