3.73 ,3.90.or 4.10 ring and pinion?
I currently have a 3.55 gear in my 2000 F150 4x2,4.6 V8 exat cab.
Will installing 4.10 be too much gear for my stock truck?
I don't have a tach in my truck to know what my rpms are at hwy speeds. I mostly do in town driving. Just want to get some more get up and go out of my truc. Please advise.

It would be ignorant IMO. Since you don't really have a viable reason to do so.

If you decide to change it go with the 4:10, anything else is a waste of time.

We haven't met,and I can assure you you don't want to meet up with me. I'm done with the wise guys who like to make comments rather than answer the question I ask via the thread. My warning to you is that there are a lot of very crazy people out in this world ,and you might think about your wise *** comments before posting them. Very crazy people, and very computer savvy smart people. Just be careful.

@wdrdoctor - jbrew knows what he's talking about. Run a search...read some of threads with his responses...that dude knows what's up. When he says that there's no viable reason to do so it's because he's seen/read it all, I'm pretty sure he's answered this 1,000 times over and over. Instead of the explaining it step by step, every time, he keeps it short - no viable reason just means, no...and ignorant means someone would generally not spend the $1,200 for a re-gear for a little get up and go and a person asking such a question may not fully understand why anyone would re-gear a truck at all. You can search it yourself, but an example off the top of my head is to compensate for having 37"+ tires (do you have 37"+ size tires?) Generally speaking, either 4.10's or 3.73's are considered good overall ideal ratios as a compromised between towing and freeway rpm driving. They're both pretty close ratios too..so it's hard to generalize and say one or the other is "best".
On the other hand, I'm no expert (and I'll let others/brew chime in)...If you just want the truck fast, I've read that:
1.) buy a mustang - it'll be cheaper and faster.
2.) it's an inexpensive truck designed for utility; it's not designed to be fast, see #1
3.) there are faster trucks out there: lightning, newer trucks, etc. but they will be expensive...so see #1
4.) yes, yours, and any truck can be made fast with enough money; but why dump 5-10 grand into making this one of them? see #1
5.) making it marginally faster works in this order of finance:
-do all the "5.4 modular maintenance" - oil change, air filter, motorcraft PCV valve, spark plugs torqued correctly, new coils
-empty as much stuff from the cab/bed as possible
-$5 zip tie mod - takes out the slack from gas pedal cable; makes it "feel" faster
- $10 gotts mod - puts in a PCV pipe at the tip of the intake where it goes into the fender well - you'll barely feel it, if anything at all
-$300 - 3" cat back exhaust w' magnaflow straight through 3" SI/SO muffler- you'll barely feel it, if anything at all
-$150-$500 - tune - really just makes more firm shift points - you'll barely feel it getting *that* much faster
-$700 OBX long tube headers + magnaflow high flow cats - will help the "mid range flat spot" a bit
-$3,000 - Lightning supercharger bolt on - this is when you finally get some actual gains. the parts will bolt on...google some builds.
-$10,000 - engine refresh (new pistons/rings + newer PI head) + new camshaft to make more power @ high rpm range + high stall torque converter to match new power curve
this list is by no means comprehensive...people have tried it...try searching for it - certainly a person as internet savvy as yourself has tried the search function in the upper right hand corner?
