No it is absolutely not accurate, it's a dummy gauge, my truck will show 180-200 and the needle won't move but my real temp gauge will show it accurately, it's just there Incase of a catastrophic melt down, chances are a check engine light and a bunch of other bad things would happen if that gauge actually reached the top.

The strange thing is the guage used to not move past normal temp but now it moves freely, do yall think the cht sender is going out?

If you didnt use motorcraft tstat, it can run just about any temp
