2003 F150 engine swap?
I have a 2003 F150 4x4 with a bad 4.6L (W) engine and looking for engine options that are not that complicated to do. 4.6L (W) engines seem to be stupid money for 100-150k on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

The easiest , cheapest swap is always exactly what you got. Good luck finding shop to install anything besides same.
What you think is ridiculous, is perception. I agree, buying a 15 yr old 150 k engine of uncertain maintenance history for $1500 , and paying another $1500 to install is hard to stomach. Till you price a used newer truck with 100k on it for $20,000
Installation is so much, it makes sense to install best you can . Its incremental $.
You must commit to driving truck several more years to get value out of it. 4 yrs ago i spent $4400 putting Aer reman in, $8000 total fixng other stuff too. 70k, no problems
Important point....it costs $ to drive any vehicle. Figure #s, see what is worth to you to kerp truck. If not, scrap it and move on.
