2003 F150 Cab Removal
My cab is really rough. It needs new rockers, inner rockers, core support, and some new metal in some areas of the floor. The underside of the cab has a lot of rust. At this point, I have the doors, fenders, entire front clip, and the whole interior removed except for the dash and headliner. I have rust free doors and fenders for it. I am planning on removing the cab to fix all the rust, as well as paint it. Also, this would make it a hell of a lot easier to clean up the rest of my frame. I was wondering how much more stuff I have to remove. I know I have to disconnect a lot of wiring. My main question is, what should I use to lift it off? I do not have access to a 2 post lift. If I did I probably wouldn’t be posting this thread lol. Does anyone know how much the cab weighs? If anyone has ever removed a cab from a 10th gen please respond. Thanks in advance. This truck is a 2003 F150 XL SuperCab 4.2L V6 Automatic.

A lot of guys on the 73/79 forum use an engine hoist to lift the cab off by themselves. Use the bolt holes with eye bolts and chain it to the engine hoist. That or get some cornfed friends offer up pizza and beef and have them help ya lift it off.

Yeah I was thinking of maybe trying something like that. I saw like a 2 minute YouTube video where a guy used 1 engine hoist on each side to lift it off. Lol. Any idea how heavy these cabs are? I was kind of wondering if a bunch of guys could just pick it up.
