Default 2003 f150 "bird chirp" sound

Hello all, I have a 2003 f150 4.2 v6 2 wheel drive long bed with 116k on the clock.

It makes a chirping noise when I hit small bumps in the road. I have brand new moog ball joints in, new tires, and ive silicone sprayed the heck out of different joints and rubber.

It seems to go away when it rains. I had my gf drive the truck while I listened and it seems to be around the brake/gas pedal area.

Its a light chirp that sounds like metal rubbing metal. It almost sounds inside but it wouldnt seem so if it goes away when it rains. Oh and ive white lithium greased hood latch and spacers, and the chirp will chirp even if my foot is on the brake. Its driving me plain CRAZY. Any ideas?

One person suggested a cam position sensor but i think thatd be more of a constant squeak and also not go away with rain.

Thanks

I would check the cooling fan clutch. The same thing happened to me. Replacing the clutch assembly and belt fixed it.

Fender, does it only happen when you first accelerate form a complete? And if so, if you accelerate very slowly does it not make this sound? I have a very similar sound, which sounds like it is coming from under the truck right under the driver seat. Only happens when hit the gas to accelerate from a stop and that is it, it does not have it any other time when driving. At first I thought it was a u-jount on the drive shaft, but mine are good, now I'm wondering if it isn't a tranny or motor mount.

I know exactly what he is talking about. I dont know what causes it and I can replicate it if I go over a dip in the road. It has to be some sort of rubber bushing on the frame/bed that is worn...

The squeak happens regardless of accelerating, driving steady, or coming to a stop. Its the bumps in the road that set it off.

I did get under there and shoot an entire can of silicone on all the rubber bushings and mounts.

The strange thing is that it does go away if its rained out and the underside gets wet.

Im a painter and one of the ladders made a similar type sound when I was moving it in a house - its light metal to metal contact it seems. (And no its not ladders in the truck haha, it does it totally empty and is coming from the driver side front area it seems.

My squeak in that area was the original shocks.

I just cant believe that nobody else seems to have this issue, or maybe there was something in the FAQ? I looked but didn't find anything.
