2002 f150 5.4
hi all.
I have codes P0171 and P0174 on my truck, last week when it got real cold,
below 10 degrees it ran rough and stalled. Had not had any issues. Just recently replaced spark plugs and ignition coils in 1-4. Still have 5-8 to do
Initially mechanic said new oxygen sensors. Today they say I need a new intake manifold -and they did a smoke test. Yet when talking further he said it could just be the gasket. (so if you did a smoke test - I would think one would be able to tell if it was just the gasket- correct) or see smoke coming from a hose ?
1- So - I see a number of threads suggesting check MAF - which I can do-
2.I have replaced the PCV value - question does it need a gasket? the one I put in was just a metal piece.
3. then check hoses for cracks
any words of wisdom out there from you all that can further assist me.
Should I replace oxygen sensors - don't know how to test them
thanks
