Default 2002 7700 exhaust fitment

I own a 2002 f150 7700 series. I want to put aftermarket exhaust on the truck. Will exhaust systems for regular 97-03 f150s fit my truck? Or no because I have a bigger transmission? Should I look into getting a mid-pipe/cats that are fitted for a Lightning? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Just go to an exhaust shop and have it custom made it'll more then likely be better quality and cheaper then ordering a kit online and they custom make it right there so no fitment issues

You have an 02 7700, so you probably just have the stock 4r700. And it's an exhaust, you can make it fit. I'm sure of it. I believe in you.

Most kits online are mandrel bent which is best. 99% of exhaust ships don't have mandrel benders! I vote for a kit online and I can't say for sure but I'm pretty sure that any kit designed for your truck will work regardless if you have a 4R70W or 4R100.

7700s have 4R100 trannys which is why the OP is asking the question he is.

I have a 2000 7700 and the magnaflow cat-back exhaust fit just fine.

I figured the cat-back systems for regular F150s would work on my truck. But was curious about the mid-pipe area because of the larger 4r100 transmission in my truck. I wanted the magnaflow high flow cats. Lightnings have the 4r100 transmission as well right? So wouldn't a mid-pipe (X, H, or Y) designed for a Lightning work on my truck?

Nope, most 7700's produced after 1999 came with the 4r700. Only California truck with the emissions regulations had the r4100
