2001 f150 4.6 Lift. Bumpy ride
I installed a 3 inch billet spacer on the top of my coil springs. I have 20 inch rims and honestly dont know the tire size. And i installed 2 inch blocks in the back in between the axle and leaf springs. Now when I drive the truck it TERRIBLY bumps up and down. I had coffee with me the other day driving and had to pour it out because it was so bumpy it splashed my coffee everywhere. How can I make my ride feel smoother and more normal? Do i need longer shocks? I have aftermarket stock size shocks. If i need longer shocks then what size do i need? Is there a way to measure what size shocks i need?

You have done modifications to your suspension with the spacers and have also added bigger rims with I can only assume smaller sidewalls.
Those items contribute to a stiffer ride.

Something doesn't sound quite right. A lift shouldn't really give that much worse of a ride. Stiffer tires will, but I'm running 35" trails and have no issues with a cup of something sloshing out.
Post some pics of what you have and what you did.

spacers are no good after 2 inches on an f150
the problem is its a spacer. it compresses the coil and stiffens the ride by default because there is less spring to flex. Also, the rule of thumb is to only lift the truck 2 inches if you do use spacers or you will really hurt the suspension is how i heard it. however if you got a spindle lift kit, you wouldn't have that problem because your actually taking pressure off the spring, the ride can stay smooth, and you could even put fabtechs 7.5 in spindle lift on since your rims oughta be big enough.

Hey thank yall for the responses. Yeah I just bought longer shocks for it and am about to install them. I bought shocks that are 3 inches longer extended. At first i had the aftermarket original shock sizes. I wish i knew to buy the lift with the knuckle from the beginning :/

Well I ended up buying Rancho rs5000 series. However these shocks only have it where the upper rod goes in and out with no spring or hydraulically controlled where if you compress it forcefully down it will ease back up. If you pull the rod up or push it down it stays. It seems like if you went over a bump it would not work right. Why are these so different? Did I buy the wrong shocks? They were not specifically made for that vehicle. I had to buy shocks that were at least 3 inches longer extended. The stock shocks are 15 inches ex. with my lift kit being 3 inches i about 18 inch shocks. Should I have bought longer ones?
