Default 2001 Adding Cruise Control "HELP"

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, Mike here the new guy! I really hope I am not beating a dead horse, but I could not find any thing pertaining to my problem on this cruise.
My dad just recently gave me his old 2001 F150XL, 4.6, 4X4, Super Cab. The truck has 300000 miles on it (original engine) and runs very strong. I am trying to add Cruise Control to it. So far I put in new streeing wheel (for the switches), new Master Cylinder, and the CC module and or speed controller. I can not get this to turn on or work in any function. I have gone over every electric wiring diagram I can find. I do have power to it but will not turn on. SO what am I missing?

Default search for thread?

I searched this forum, two other F150 forums, yahoo, google, bing, dog pile, and go daddy. I found nothing on installing CC on 1997 to 2003 F150s. Sure would like to see that link. Thanks any way

I googled 2001 f150 cruise control retrofit and found a couple of older threads that talked about adding factory cruise. Both mentioned a factory kit, 1L3Z-9A818-BA. I google that. I coiuldn't find any in stock. The thread I mentioned earlier seemed like it would be helpful because it mentioned several things that could be why your cruise isn't working. One thing I found on another post is the #13 fuse in the box under the hood.

If you type in "2001 cruise control issues" in the search box at the top of the page, several posts will come up. Scroll down the page and you'll find the thread I mentioned.

WOW, thanks again! I looked it up the way you did and found a lot of deodorant articles on this. I also saw the kit you mentioned and I could not find it for sale also.

Have you taken a resistance test across the 2 circuits that run to and from the cruise control switches on the wheel? Might not be a bad idea to check those circuits as well.
