Default 1999 XLT Power window help

Hello, all. First of all, thanks again in advance for any help you can or can't offer. This idiot has learned a lot just from reading these forums but I'm a little stumped right now and with snow in the forecast, I need to ask for help again.

The other day, my drivers side window wouldn't go up. It would go down intermittently, but not up. Passenger side did absolutely nothing at all. I had a similar issue in the past and swapping the master switch seemed to do the trick. This time, however, not so much.

I did a pretty lengthy search of the forums and tried the following based on what I read:

1) Replace Accessory Delay Relay (No. 5). I also tried subbing and swapping with No. 4 in various combinations. No dice.
2) Checked all fuses. All appeared to be intact but, again, I'm a moron so do they not have to appear broken to be broken?
3) Replace master switch -- Went to the junkyard, pulled out two of them. Made sure they appeared somewhat clean, but neither of them seemed to remedy the problem.

My thought process tells me that because it's both windows that aren't working, it's likely something electrical (broken wire, perhaps) as opposed to the motor/regulator but I'm hoping one of you might be able to point me in the right direction.

I should add, mine is a '99 XLT; four door (two of them the flap-doors).

Anything anyone can share would be appreciated. As always, I pay in beer.

Do you have any other issues going on? Could be a GEM module. Has it rained lately, truck been wet?

Thanks for responding.

No, I haven't noticed any issues out of the ordinary -- electrically speaking. The truck had sat idle for the better part of the last three weeks while I was out of town for work, but it was pretty dry while I was gone and I hadn't really had any problems with it since I had been back.

May not be the issue but it's a cheap dumb fix, cost nothing but time. My passenger side window stopped working completely, I hit it with a hammer a couple times from the inside and it's worked ever since... lol

I have seen that as an option. I was hoping to make it a last resort as I don't have a garage. It's on the list for tomorrow, if needed!

I'd get out a scope on a rope then, and see if you've got power coming in and out of the switches.... and trace it back from there. I'm not aware of any "common" problem areas in the circuit. It would be odd that both motors would take a dump at the same time.

Update: still no function in either window but do hear a click on the relay when I press the buttons on the master switch. Hoping to get it to a friends today to do electrical tests but maybe this narrows it down...

not to steal your thread!

but i am having window issues as well and thats what lead me to this forum site.

I have a 2006 F150. My issue is the driver side door switch wont roll the passenger window up or down. All other windows work from the driver door switch. The passenger switch does work and the window will go up and down with no issue.

So everything works except for driver being able to roll the passenger window up or down.

I have taken the door apart. checked all the wires and connections. removed the plastic hose between the door and the cab and looked for bad wires. replaced the driver side master switch. replaced the single passenger door switch. i have found no visible issues and the new replacement parts didnt help.

I have zero clue where to turn to next or what to try or look for. Any suggestions at all would be amazing! i am beyond frustrated with this

Your driver side switch is bad.

If you're getting power at the motor wires then it's your motor, if you're not getting power then you need to trace back the wording from the door to where ever it leads. People often times hack and ghetto rig crap in cars so something may have been cut.
