Default 1999 F150 both back doors dont open

The two mini back doors went out one day apart from each other, when I try the inside side handle I pull on it to open the door and it clicks as if it wants to open but it doesnt, I do notice that the bottom part is the side that wants to open but the top part is jammed. Has anyone come across this problem before? How can I force open the doors?

You have to remove the door panels to get to the rod for the top latch. PM me and I can send instructions.

They may need to be realigned. . I had a chevy where the front door did that, just a thought, I'm probably completely wrong.

Default F150 1999 rear pass door on ext. cab won't open

You will have to open it from the inside-Yes, I have done it and it takes about 15 min. or so.-I have also posted about 40 images, after I opened the door-In an effort to contribute a little to all the lost souls with the Curse of the F150 3rd Door issue. Hope this helps-BTW I just did this on 12/04/2011-found my particular issue-I will need a new cable, so I'll have to go to the dealer tomorrow and buy one. Also included images of the tools needed-Good Luck!

once you get the panel off you have to unhook the cable from the inner latch and pull the center part to get it to open, the end pieces are known for breaking which wont let the door open.

you will have to either buy new cable and latch which runs about $80 if I remember right, or there is a company that makes a repair kit for the cable ends that are aluminum. the repair kit runs $15.99 on amazon for 4 pieces which will fix 2 cables, enough for 1 door.
