Ok youve done what so far because that sounds like a coil pack your truck doesn't have cop that's coil over plug

right now ive only changed the fuel filter and the pcv valve. im not sure if has cop. i know it has the 2 coil packs that the passenger side plug wires run to one and the driver side plug wires run to the other one.

Ok its most likely your coil pack getting bad or the wire do you happen to know when it was tuned up last

i have no idea. i would like to find out what other things to change on it. it has 163000 miles on it. any suggestions?and are you saying the plug wires are getting bad? also any way or place to take the coil pack tget tested to see if they are getting bad? and since i have the 2 coil packs that means i do not have cop? thanks for the help

Yes the plug wires as far as getting your coil pack tested it would probably cost you more than you just replacing it yourself you can test it with a ohms meter but you will need a book i would personally give it a tune up plugs and wires and if the problem persist change the coil pack will you be doing the work yourself?

ok. ya im doing the work myself i jsut moved back to pa and i dont really trust anybody around here or know where to go that woldnt tell me too fix more than needs to be and i want to get try and learn the ins and out of my truck.

i live in wilkes barre right now. i grew up in the poconos in blakeslee tho just moved here after i got out of the military.where are you from?

fixxed the problem "knock on wood"! the plugs deff needed to be changed. change the plugs and wires and runs awesome. last time the plugs n wires were changed were feb of 2008 found the receipt from the previous owner. was not the easiest job but replaced them. also one of the injectors the plastic tip had a chip out of it so replaced that too but hopefully i fixxed the problem for now. thanks for evey bodys help!
