should i purchase this 99 f150?? help me out
So I have the opportunity to purchase a 1999 4x4 F150 super cab with the short bed. 5.4L with automatic transmission. The kicker is it only has 20,000 miles!! It was a beach truck for the fire department. So that being said the undercarige has a little rust. I was told the transmission tends to slip every so often. So the question is, should I pay 1800-2k for it or no??

I wouldn't even give it second thought, with that low of millage for that price. I would buy that thing in a heartbeat. Find a used trans for under a grand and flip it for 5k or keep it. No matter what you do its a great deal. As long as its not to rusty.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If its not too bad I wanna replace or rebuild the transmission and try fixing what rust damage it has.
Oh I forgot to mention it already has a lift kit and 35" bfg all terrains too
If the rust is bad you think I could have a shop cut out the bad stuff and patch it up?

I'd buy it,fix the trans, clean up the rust and sell it for $10,000.
Yes,in my neck of the woods you could get $10,000 for a truck like that

Well that sounds like a pretty good plan, but knowing me, once I start fixing it up I might not wanna sell it lol.
Random question, is there an app for android phones? I can't figure out how to post pictures on here from this new phone

And about the rust I'm sure your local body shop could fix it no problem. Its all a matter of how much you are willing to spend.

Buy it!! My 2000 4x2 4.6L supercab 6.5ft bed with 40k miles was 6k. 2k for 20,000 miles with a bigger engine and 4x4 is a steal.

Thanks for the replies and help guys. The bid is at 1500 right now and has been for 3 days and closes tomorrow. So I'm pretty sure I'll be able to grab it for 2k hopefully
