Default Tailgate interchangeability

Will an 99 generation f150 tailgate fit an 04 generation tailgate? (not a heritage edition). They're both straightside trucks.

Thanks

No it's all different. You can run any generation SuperDuty tailgate though.

It's an easy way to get a step also.

The whole thing. My 04 tailgate is beat to hell. I have a 99 that is headed to the scrap pile and I wondered if the tailgate off the 99 could fit the 04.

You're SOL then, I thought you had a 99 wanting a newer tailgate. The 04 has a taller bedside and a more square gate.
