Default 1997 F150 fog light install

I have a 1997 F150 4x4 extended cab, looking to add fog lights to the front bumper.
The truck has the factory wiring and openings at the bumper and I have purchased a headlight switch with the fog light option built in.
When I removed the existing headlight switch I only noticed 2 large connectors 1 gray and 1 black. Is the 3 connector for the fog lights there and I'm not seeing it or did Ford not wire it into the harness and if not why have only part of the wiring for the fog lights and where does the factory wiring end?
Could I add the wiring in to make them work, is there a factory harness that can be installed under the dash with all 3 connectors?

1997-98's are pre-wired for fog lights if the truck is 4x4. The harness are under the front bumper on the radiator support corners, and the 3rd plug should be in the dash, if it is needed. I did this to both my 98 trucks and the wiring was there for what i needed.

Did you find that taking the switch out to be a bear on these years? It can be such a sorry thing to remove.

Installed fog light switch (also has auto lights?)
Took trim off dash to look for a 3 connector but could not find it.
Is the third connector on this switch for the auto lights function?
Everything installed and fog lights not working! (new bulbs)
Also fog light symbol on switch does not light up.
Bad switch, maybe? Picked up from 1998 f150 at local auto wreckers.
All other light functions are working fine.
Checked for all fuses and relays that the truck should have and they are all there.
Is there a separate fuse for the fog lights?
Will have to start to check this out with volt meter I guess.

Rex....are you pulling out on the switch in the headlight on position. They only come on in the full on position and pulled out. The yellow fog light should be illuminated when you do so.

You can modify the switch to come on with the park lights, but that is another time. Right now we need to figure out why you have no lights.

Yes pull out on **** in the full on position.
Does anyone have a description of each pin for the Headlight switch with fog light and auto light options.(not interested in auto lights but the switch that I found had them)
Want to confirm wiring harness at switch is correct for fog light option.
Also I read in another post that there needs to be a relay in the sub fuse panel next to main fuse panel in engine compartment? Not sure if this is correct.

Download the owners manual for your year truck from the link in my sig. I will give all fuse and relay locations.

Default Installing fog lights.

Did you ever sort the fog lights out?

im looking to add some fog lights to my 97 xlt. The cut outs in the chrome bumper are tear drop shaped but all the replacement fog lights are square. Do they sit behind the opening as standard or are these the wrong OE lights?

plus what was the issue with the switch?

I second Nasherb, i also have a 97 2wd Rick Flair side, I also have the tear drop cutouts and have the foglamp harness there just waiting for factory fog lights. I would like to add them in the future and wondering if it can be as easy as replacing the light switch and plugging them in.
