Default wheel painting

has anyone ever painted their wheels? if so what paint to you recommend. i was looking at a epoxy based paint as i think that will hold up best to road wear and make it easier to clean. any ideas would be great!!!

How about powdercoating them? Durable and reasonable. Guys around here on Craigslist will do all 4 for about $150..

Never done it myself, but a lot of guys on a Sportster forum I frequent really like this stuff when painting metal surfaces:

It's pretty straightforward, the directions are listed on the link.

All good ideas.
Epoxy and powdercoat work well.
You can also go to an auto paint dealer and they should sell special paint for wheels that is easy to clean and durable.
The key is going to be prepping the wheels for the paint.
If you go to an auto paint place, they can tell you what you need to do the job right.

I painted mine. Sand, prime, paint, clearcoat. I don't think I spent more than 40 or 50 bucks all in.

painted mine myself. even did the red ring myself. auto paint and wheel clear coating. i sandblasted mine first though. make sure you sand those things like crazy. sand until you think its good, then sand for another hour.

I used a wire brush attachment on a drill to scuff mine up first. Saved a ton of time.
