thanks everyone for the help!
Dustyy,

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your keyless? I also have the same issue, as I was running out of daylight, so I just rewired everything so that my door switches would work until I had some spare time to finish up. Now my door switches don't work at all, and the fuse is good on mine as well. And am I understanding you correctly that the keyless does work on yours, but the door switches do not?

What should have been straight forward has turned into a gigantic mess

Just follow what I said for wiring. There is a very specific way to wire it.

jhelrey,

I should have updated yesterday. After sleeping on it, I went back to the wiring and realized that I checked the maxi fuse but forgot all about the 15 amp three inches away from it. That was the culprit. Your original post told me everything I needed, but it didn't teach me common sense . Frustration ALWAYS leads to stupid mistakes!

In any case, the bulldog system works great. I wish that factory systems I've had in the past worked this well.

In dier need of help! I too have done home wiring, cat5 car audio and never had a problem until now lol. I bought this truck 2 weeks ago, did a ton of work to, so i said im gonna atempt to install a new alarm. Took apart the dash and found there jad been an old alarm at one point. Wires still there but not transmitter. Disconnected the wires to start my installation, and now it wont start. It does crank - just dosent turn over, any ideas??

Default not enough power maybe?

I have wired my system up, and I believe correctly. Here's the symptoms... When I use the fob, the drivers side functions perfectly. The issue is the passenger side. You can hear the passenger side make a noise like it's trying to work, but it doesn't. When you use the switches in the door, everything is normal, making me believe it's wired correctly. I saw something about a relay for the power, if that is the solution, please elaborate. I swore off electrical work and for some stupid reason tried this. I will reinstate that oath after this project...

Thumbs up A big thanks!

After reading this thread it only took me about 40 minutes from start to finish to install my bulldog keyless entry. Works like a charm! Thank you to everyone who posted on this thread and made the installation seem almost effortless (aside from crawling under the dash)
