Default Bad Master Cylinder??

Have a 97 SCAB 2WD rear ABS beater truck. Just replaced front rotors, calipers, hoses and pads, and rear wheel cylinders, shoes and brake hardware. Did 2-person bleed until all bubbles were gone. Didn't improve stopping. Haven't checked the booster yet, but watched the master cylinder while brakes were pumped for signs of bubbles or swirling fluid. Didn't see those but noticed fluid squirting to the top rear of the master cylinder reservoir. Is this normal, or a sign the master cylinder is bad?
Thanks.

ABS is notoriously hard to bleed if you get air in it.

Not at all hard to bleed. A 12 ga does a fine job. What's hard is getting it to stop bleeding.

I know what you mean, you want a nice firm peddle without needing to floor it to get good stoppage.
