CRAIGSLIST!!! USE IT....I got my 97 f150 5.4 v8 xlt supercab 2wd for $1400 with 150k off craigslist. From what I hear those v6s are junk anyway.

Actually, Bigredxlt I found it on craigslist, it was just a dealer listing.

I just picked up a 2001 4x2 supercab w 112K for under 5 grand. Excellent condition, clean interior... not many bells and whistles but its a great truck.

I would assume you're talking about the 97/98 4.2's??? There's nothing at all wrong with the 99 and up 4.2's. I've had less problems from my 4.2 then then 5.4 I drive. Just saying...

To the OP. I would try and steer clear of a dealership on a vehicle that old. Look around and you'll be able to find a good clean used Ford for a good price. Good luck
