That is the reason I kept updating. I do like the sound of them. I have a work van so I don't have to drive my truck everyday. That allowed me to take my time.

Did the seafoam today.Hmmm. not sure what I accomplished. No knocking around town or down the highway. Going up a hill on the highway it knocked.I put my reader on but no codes except the p1000. Ideographs about 8 miles back roads and at least 15 highway.
Guess my next move will be a knock sensor replacement.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Bought a fuel filter today, and a knock sensor. Will replace the fuel filter the take it for a drive. I have owned this truck since 2001. It had 20k on it then. Today it has 79k. This will be the first fuel filter change since I had it. Too many project cars and I have a work van to drive daily.just never thought about it. If that does not fix it, I will be putting on the knock sensor in the afternoon on Saturday.

Did one more thing before I put in a knock sensor. For those that are following my adventure.
Today I removed the intake 90 that the EGR is bolted to. Found the one port was blocked again. Maybe the seafoam moved some junk around, who knows. Put a vacuum on the EGR and did not think it moved, if it did it was not much.put the short end of an Allen wrench in the inlet and put pressure on it while it was under a vacuum. Now it moved. Excerised it a couple more times with out putting pressure on the Allen wrench. Put everything back together and went for a back road and highway drive. It ran pretty good. Went down the highway, up doe inclines where it had struggled and knocked before. Not today, no abnormal noise and held 65 mph no problem.
Thanks for reading and letting me write through my problem. I hope that this may help someone sometime.
