Default Advice needed so i dont break anything.

OKay, so i bought a truck, and all of the vent covers were out of the dash and laying in the back seat, so i was able to pop all of them back into place except for one, and no matter how much forcing and prying i do i cant make it fit. So do i take the panel around it off? or do i keep just playing around with it? and if i have to take things apart i would prefer a detailed explanation (with pictures). (By vent covers i mean the little assembly that aims the air up/down and side to side)

I have attached a picture i found online of the specific vent cover for reference.

Do you mean the whole vent or just the lovers?

It should pop in- you might have to fidde-fart around with it, maybe move the louvers one way or the other.
it must have come out with difficulty, cause it looks as if someone broke the grille on it.
