15" rims
Got to love when they come out with options for our out dated platform.
They've been throwing around the idea since November, and saw there was enough interest so they have been brought to life and beginning production on them.
Looks like we'll be getting the available sizes in race 15", and street 17 and 18"
Test fit ment at JLP, a vendor that pushed to see this brought about.
Now we won't be held to bogart if you're needing a 15" flavor

It was intended more towards the lightning crowd, us HD owners just get the luck end of the deal they're there.
With that said L owners don't care about 16" rims, they were 17" stock and 15's are there for the lightness, amount of tires/drag tires, more sidewall wrinkle, and less rotational mass...
I guess that's the best guesstimation I can come up with.
And I don't care for the bigger rims, so i didnt look and pay as much attention to them, but the 15's are 10" wide.

Grinding the caliper down, then just slip it on.
They're only going to offer one backspacing. I guess you
Could use spacers and set it off far enough that the caliper grinding wont be an issue.
They're probably going to be pretty pricy, just for the simple fact it's a limited class, and they can, but on the flip side, the tire options and prices of tires in comparison, could offset the cost in the first tire purchase.

I haven't ever done it, and probably won't, I'm going 9" rear on the Harley so I do t plan on keeping the 5x135 soo with that said
Probably about 1/8" it's not much. I've heard to get aggressive or you'll be there all day. I've seen one instance where someone took too much off, but they took like half the caliper, lol I've also seen about 100 other trucks that have done it with no problems what so ever and a handful of those trucks are DD

Will work for parts
Why go with the 9"? The stock 9.75 has been proven to reliable with plenty of power. 34 spline axles stock, I would do a true trac though

To answer your question why? A 9" is 100lbs lighter than a 9.75. Also when I go 9" I'm doing 4-link and coilovers, that's another 150lbs ditching the leafs. Plus the aftermarkets crazy for a 9" and your rim options are tons better than 3 different 15" rims(5x135mm), 1 of those being race only haha
