Default Slight hesitation while taking off...

Just as the topic says, when I first take off from a red light its almost as I have about half power. Then it will take off regularly. It only does it for about a second so its not horribly noticeable.

Maybe time for plugs and coil packs?

It's a 2000 4x4 5.4 auto scab with 144k miles. I've only had it for about 4k miles now.

Start by cleaning your throttle body. If that doesn't fix it, change your spark plugs. If that doesn't fix it, investigate your COPs.

I heard using certain chemicals to clean the throttle body on fords will damage the throttle body. Something about a teflon coating on the inside that will come off.

What are you guys using to clean your tb's?

Theres a special throttle body cleaner that they sell at auto stores. If you were to use a carb cleaner or brake cleaner you are correct, it would ruin the coating. They also sell a combination carb/throttle body cleaner, which is also safe for these trucks.

No clunk, just hesitation before it throws you back. Kinda feels like torque management in a way.

So do you just spray it in there? Or do you use some kind of swab to clean off the carbon build up. I did these type of services a years ago when I was doing oil changes, but its been a while lol

To do it right, you need to take the whole thing off and clean both sides, particularly in the hinge areas.
