Default 2002 Mpg

I just bought a 2002 f150 crewcab with the 4.6L and was wondering what you guys are getting for mpg. I have checked it twice now and it's only 12-13 mpg. this is 1/2 in town driving and the other is highway. I'm not a lead foot and have not been pulling a trailer. Thanks for any input.

Thats a little low. If your not to concerned about ride, air up the tires to about 50lbs (if their max is 45) or to whatever you are comfortable with, check your air filter, oil, and other fluids. How old are the spark plugs? Are the spark plug wires in good shape? Do you have any modifications?

Mass Air Flow sensor and is found just after the air filter and it takes all the vital readings of the air coming into the motor. Do a search in the forum on how to clean it.

thanks for the replys.... I just picked up a new air filter today but I have no idea how old the plugs are because I just got the truck a week ago. It does have 100k on it though. They look like a real pain the the ***** to change but I will attempt it I guess.

Its not to bad on the 4.6 i changed mine took bout 2 1/2 hours. The hardest one was passenger side by the fire wall.Just make sure you dont pull the heater hose off your heater core cause the water went straight down where the plug was i was an idiot i should have knew that.I had to blow all the water out glad i didnt have plug out.Think i used a 3 inch extension and a two inch worked out well.Hope this helps out a lil if anybody has anymore to add or to correct me go ahead.
