Default '03 Harley build thread

Just wanted to let you guys in on some of the back ground for the Harley. It was actually purchased in '03 for a rebuild on Cant Quit. I was going to use the frame and body, until I realized how fun it was in 2wd form. I had never owned a 2x4 or supercharged vehicle before. Needless to say I'm now hooked, and will always have a boosted vehicle in my stable.

This is how they got into the truck. If you pry this up theres one plastic clip you have to brake off and you can open the door like it were unlocked.

They took everything that didn't have a Vin # they were professionals

This was the dash when they got through... They took a pair of channel locks and broke the key cylinder out of the steering column, in doing so, all you have to do is crank the truck with a flat head screwdriver

A shot of the rear... I guess I could be glad that they left me my steering wheel.

I remember reading this on LR i think it was. Sucked what happened. But glad you took the time to rebuild it. Loved what you had the truck lowered too!

Yeah I have a build thread on LR. Next drops gonna be very close to a 3/5 so it'll look good again

Yeah it did look **** when I had it lowered and miss it, but I want to start putting it back on the track and the last drop wasn't very practal on giving good weight transfer.

I've gotten some JDM drag springs and had them powder coated grey with black speck in them. the front will also consist of some adjustable shocks to beable to set preload soft or hard to acommodate to the track.

*QA1
*Strange
*Afco

Not really sure which shocks I'm going with, whatever I find a deal on actually.

Front springs

On the rear I'm doing a 9"/4-link/coilovers, I'll have greater wheel options being 5 on 5 bolt pattern some prostar 15's will be nice

Here I'm stripping down the axle to debrake it, pulling the shafts

Backing plate, and spring perches that need removing

Got the backing plate off, now to get some aluminum Wilwood 4 piston superlite calipers for disc brakes

My set of 22's bolted up, gotta love universal rims lol

axle completely disassembled, now I can throw in a locker and 4.10 gears

Shock mounts and leaf spring perches, taken off, to make room for coilover and 4link mounts

I have my salvage license and I bought it from the insurance company with 16,000 miles on the clock.

It'll evolve into one.

Heres the front clip gone

They took the lower intake up, I had to get another wiring harness from ford and that was spensive, I didn't know about lightning/harley davidson sites then so I paid premium on a few things I didn't find on Fleabay. Figuring out the vacuum lines where a nightmare.

They did happen to leave the moon roof which was a plus, I have seen to many of those forsale in the classifieds

driver side doors

The start of putting the dash back together, and carpet in

The back end coming back together

I ended up going with an Lightning S/C set-up to get her back on the road

Don't really have to many more of building it, but I ended up dropping it tell end of '05

Fixing the front valence from curb checking it too many times

4/6 with 22's I had air shocks in the rear aired up to the max, it gave me a small, very small rake. I could lower the rear almost 2 inches from all these pics

When I put it for sale tale end of '06, belle wanted in the picture lol

One of the many times she got tagged, if girls only knew how hard it was to get that crap off on the 20's

Pimpin LMAO ok, I'm a Tool

pretty sweet of the 2 together

And once again smiling for the camera, oh wait nevermind, caugh caugh TOOL! haha This was the same day I pulled the big truck off the land to start working on her again.

And parking Cant Quit up on my land in town to make it more convienient to work on. Plus I don't really have to many more pics of it lowered. I lifted it back up in '07
