Default 03 fx4 radio problems

i have a 2003 f150 fx4 supercrew and the truck also has the vhs video player. when i bought the truck cd player didnt work and now the radio isnt lighting up now at all no display or anything today. the front of the radio is kind of loose so i think someone has screwed with it in the past. but anyways i was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to find a replacement radio. ive checked ebay and there are so manye different to choose from but nothing that have the video option. so im looking for a factory replacement or an aftermarket that i can just plug in and the video player still work. if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Any after market double din would be a wayyy better replacement than a decade old factory one. Look into them, rather than the original. You'll be much happier. And they're one of the easier modifications to do.

That's what I was thinking. But how would I hook it up to the factory video player?

I'm just trying to figure out a way to hook it up where the sound still plays through the speakers and the video will play through the monitor

Just get a harness adapter and it will prevent you from splicing up your stock wiring.

No idea on the monitors, But most multimedia decks have video out. Also - there are several double din guides out there. But most the multimedia decks are custom fitment. Here's what your getting into:

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm gonna go talk to an audio shop and see if they know of a way for it to work. I could live with just the VHS player as long as it still worked after changing the head unit. I just use the video for my son anyways. I'm just tired of not being able to play CDs

I would get something like this

You can play pretty much play anything you want, plus gives you a video out to connect to your factory monitor.

That looks good. Will the VCR and monitor and controls on the center console still work with that radio like it does with the factory radio? I didn't know if it had its own separate power and control harness or if it was all connected

I don't know much about the VHS setup in our trucks. However, with VHS pretty much being extinct I would just wire the monitor to the front deck. When you throw in a movie your good to go. There are lots of different ways to wire it, but you can make anything work.

Yeah I would like to try to wire it to it somehow but I can't seem to find a wiring diagram anywhere. It would be a lot easier and nicer to go that route than try to run a RCA cable to the monitor
