Does Anyone Know How to Program a Transceiver Modual Plug on am '02 F150?

Maria, i am changing my transceiver on my 2002 f150 on 2-7-09 and i was told u do not always have to reprogram it and i spoke to dealership today and in order to get it programmed you must take it to service department and have them hook it to computer but not always necessary i u have any information please let me know if i am wrong i dont wanna tell u the wrong information

no its not the keyless entry the tranciever is a black ring around the ignition under the column shell that reads the keycode and alows truck to start with out shutting off fuel pump
