Default 02 4.6 performance upgrades.

Hey everyone, new to the forum. Looking for performance upgrades for my 4.6. Already have cai, exhaust. Currently sitting on 35x12.5x17. Thinking about doing gears and a programmer. Any other suggestions?

Put all your money into 4.56 gears and a sct programmer.
Well, unless you have the cash for a supercharger.

Already planned. Do you know what rear end I currently have? Also, I was told that Diablo would be a better tuner. Any other suggestions? And I've been looking at superchargers but can't find a used one cheap. Not ready to drop 4K on one yet. Going to do cam and see about different intake.

With a 4.6 you probably have the 8.8. But count the bolt heads on the backside (he said backside) of your rear end. Most here like the sct programmer. There is a sticky thread on programmers at the top of the page. Look it over. As to cams I have no idea, but there are peeps here to help with that too.

For the mod motor stick to sct for a programmer. A good cam can go a long way but if you get too aggressive then your deliverability goes out the window.

If you're going to do cams, don't skimp out. IIRC, cams were gonna run me 2k installed with all the parts and labor. But then I decided to look into trick flow heads for the 2v 4.6 and they sell heads complete with springs and valves and all they need is a cam and that was going to run me 3500 total for parts and labor. Just food for thought. You'll gain a lot more with heads and cams than just cams.
