02 2wd auto 4.2l O/D light flashing
 

I'm a Newb, need some advice... I was driving yesterday and the od light on the end of the shifter started blinking, and my transmission kept kicking in and out of OD. I noticed it earlier in the day too but didn't see the light (prob because its kind of hidden behind my hand and the wheel). I did a quick search on here and looks like others have had this issue but no one has posted what was actually going on or the solution. It has 72k miles on it. Hoping this is not the start of major tranny issues cuz I was planning to keep til paid off. Any insight would be great! thanks

Just spoke to my contact at the dealership, he advised to replace the lever and switch assy. About $65.00. Friend of mine had the switch changed out on his Expedition, not sure of his symptom. Might check your local dealer about it. Is it a switch only or lever and switch combo.

Yeah most likley nothing wrong mechancially at 72K, like Bill Wiltshire said try the lever
