Yes it's something you can Live with or not. I swapped out a trans on one of my previous vehicles. I couldn't live with knowing it was a used trans with unknown miles. I sold it 3 months after. The kid drove it for another 3 years and it was working fine up to the day he totaled it.

you can use www.car-part.com to look for the motor. they do not list all places but will get you a rough idea who local to you has it.

Check on Craigslist for a motor, you should be able to find one pretty cheap. Junk yards usually have posts on there.
