You just need just enough room to access the release pin. Once you feel it you really don't need to see it to release.

Yes, it's a common issue. There's virtually no room so it's quite challenging. Watch Matt's video (it's for a SupreCrew rather than SuperCab but the latch is the same) so you'll at least know about where the latch is located. That was my problem at first. You basically have to search blindly and I was searching too far over on the seat. Then use patience and you'll be able to release the latch. I used a boxed end wrench.
