Default Lift kit NIB

I have a mcgaughys 6.5" lift kit for 09-14 trucks. Decided I don't want to go that high after getting a boat. Only one box has been opened to "peer inside". Haven't even unwrapped a single part. This comes with the upgraded compression struts as well as shocks!

1500$ located in Sunrise (Fort Lauderdale) FL. I would also trade for ~4" lift kits. Would also probably be willing to meet a little North for the right price.

You can probably just buy some rough country 4" spacers and use that kit. You would just have really flat cv angles

hmmmm that's a good idea for a 6" kit utilizing their standard 4" kit pushed to 6". the differential drop/crossmember drop on the mcgaughy's is a full 6.5" vs other mfg's 4" drop + 6" knuckles. I think you'd end up with negative CV angles if I went with your suggestion.....

It was just a suggestion because the Mcgaughy 6.5" kit actually lowers the drop 5.5 as seen in the pic below from my truck install.

no I appreciate the suggestion! what are you CV angles like now??

I would be fine if it would work as a 4-4.5" I'm actually thrilled you mentioned it! However, I do need a little rake for pulling the boat, I initially planned to replace the rears with leaf springs to avoid their negative rake. flat CV's don't bother me a single bit!

Another thought, what about the lift spindles ? .....what is the difference in those over factory? Just being cautious here. Trying to do a little math and visualize every aspect of the install.

I called McGaughys and he said the geometry would be "thrown off" if I tried this but I'm not really sure how? the driveshaft obviously won't be an issue...but I certainly don't want to do anything "unsafe" or cause premature wear versus just running a 4" kit.....

I understand your concerns and it's your choice. I have been doing all kinda custom lifts for a long time and know it can be done. How can rough country offer a 4" and 6" kit and they are exact same parts for both kits except the strut spacer. That's what makes the lift difference.

Still for sale...decided I am not going to try and modify the kit to make it work. Just going to get a 4"
