Hey I'm interested but have a few questions. I don't see it listed so i'm assuming it doesn't come with the dash kit? Also how does this all work with sync? You list the sirius antenna but does it include the tuner? I looked up this model and it says it needs the tuner separately. Appreciate it thanks.

The dash kit was bought for my truck a platinum and it is not included. The sirrius antenna is what they call the tuner but the sirrius function works just fine although I have never activated it. As far as the sync it works with the wiring harness but when sync is active it shuts the head unit off so I just used the functions of the dnx8120 for my hands free bt and the ipod control because it is more user freindly thsn sync. If you want it to work better with sync I would buy Kenwoods maestro harness for another 140 but it isnt necessary because the head units functions are faster and more user friendly than sync is.

Maestro is not compatible with that radio to retain Sync. It's too old. 2013 and up navigation radios only.

I called kenwood today and you are correct the maestro will not work w pre 2013 head units you have to use the harness I have and use the aswc for the steering wheel controls. The antenna/tuner I have for the xm sirrius gets you traffic but you have to add there tuner to get full sirrius satellite radio. You also have to add the tuner on the 2013 and newer decks with maestro as it wont support the factory sirrius function. The unit works with sync but I just hadn't figured out how to prevent it from turning the head unit off when you receive a call. I received a newer head unit for Christmas and I have purchased the maestro to go along with it but it looks like if I want satellite radio I will still have to buy the optional tuner.

This subject has been covered many times in this forum. The retention of OEM sat radio has nothing to do with the capabilities of Maestro or the radio. The physical tuner is embedded in the factory radio and gets removed from the car when you change the radio. If it were external to the radio (as in the Edge, Explorer and others) we are able to retain and use it.
