The way that the plates get mounted when tightening the U-Bolt. It can shift a bit thus making the U-bolt bend. Its fine when its mounted but when you disassemble and the go to reassemble it can cause issues getting it all lined up again.

I thought it might be a shifting problem when in use. Thanks for the clarification.

The ones I have on mine now are also slightly bent, but they have not moved at all. (The ones I just purchased from NorthernYankee, are for my son's truck). But I really think its just from basic tightening of the ubolts as they started to bend even before they were tightened/torqued all the way.
I don't think it's anything really to worry about, but I'll definitely buy brand new ones on this re-install just to be safe.

Good to know! If I need to tow anything heavier in the future, I'll be using air bags.

Lemme think on it. Do it for 200 shipped to 43512? I may have a buddy interested too but need to get ahold of him.
