Hi DavidKR,
Great question! We ALL have our own personal tastes and with the adobe interior, I even had some questions on even the black switch panel against the colored interior. I've sold quite a few & all loved the results but only 1 or 2 showed pics (one is a a few posts back where he has the KIC switches & it looks GREAT!!) but I can only do the black anodizing on the switch panel itself.

About the OTRATTW color choices.... by far the 2 most popular is the Blue/Blue and the Red/blue. Mainly to the fact that we have the blue in our dash colors and it matches very well!
Personally, I went with Red/blue...(my son went with blue/blue)

Also available is Red/Red and also a Green/Green.... they look great too.... but the popular vote definitely are with the 2 Blue combos.

The pics I take with my iPhone and post on here make the Red look "pinkish", so don't let that throw you off... they are definitely RED.

But here's a few pics:

Ultimately either looks great & it is personal, but I hope the info helps you in a direction you prefer.
I will say.... any way you'll go... you'll love it!!!

This is a great looking setup! I was originally thinking about doing the upfitter switches in the cubby but I love the look and location of these. Also, having a full package with wiring and fuse panel makes for a very convenient modification. I will be emailing soon to place an order.

Thank you.

I've already had a few order BOTH.
...In that case, the power cable will be 11' long to give adequate length to reach the KustomFX fuse panel that's in the engine compartment. There is where all your connections will take place and can connect to your relays there.

feel free to email me directly when you're ready.

I installed mine, Everything fit perfect! This set up is top notch.
That first cut, and the sound of the blade slicing through the headliner still creeps me out, but so worth it!

Thank you!

Yes, the initial start of cutting gets the heart rate up.... but that's another nice thing about the template that I give with every switch panel. Just trace & cut the line.
Once you start the cut, it's actually real easy...(Though a steady hand is a plus... a new blade, small pocket or even hobby knife helps BUT the sharp blade is definitely your friend!)

Post pics when you get it all wired up! Love to see it!

Thanks,
Brett

Hi,
Your switch panel and it's wires are labeled. The one ground can be connected to all of the incoming wires of your lights, or they can be separately grounded... just as long as they are grounded.

Then you will have: Power In & Power out left, per switch.

You SHOULD be using a relay in your wiring harness of your lights.
In the next picture, it shows the standard relay wiring kit that includes a relay, inline fuse, battery connectors, the wiring itself.... and the switch.

That switch will have the same basic 3 wires: ground, power in & power Out.
You will cut that switch wiring and tap into those wires.

Again, there is only one ground coming from the switch panel. Connect that to a good ground screw or bolt & all the incoming grounds can be attached to the same bolt or anywhere you have a good ground.

Then your trace your wires back to your relay or use a test light to check which is your power in & power Out.

Note: Don't trust the color.... just because a wire is colored black, necessarily means it's the ground wire. Trace & follow the wires back to the relay to be sure.

Anyone else, feel free to chime in.

You can Email me too, if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Brett

I ran mine down a channel to the front right of the roof console. Then laid it along a channel in the roof panel along the windshield - it pulls down enough to stuff it in there. Next I ran it down the passenger A pillar and dropped it down next to the fuse panel. I ordered the cable a foot longer and it ended just inside the passenger footwell. Perfect for wiring up. That was the easy part. Running from the fuse panel thru the firewall to my relays was a whole different adventure🙂

I want to Thank you for all the orders and interest in the KustomFX switch panels!

Recently, there have been a few questions about using relays.

Please keep in mind that it is common practice and SAFE automotive wiring to use a relay in your accessories.

Most major brand light kits will already come with a relay wiring harness, and your switch panels and switches simply replace the switch that came in your kit.

But many also buy JUST a pair of LED lights, or light bar.... please purchase a relay wiring harness so you do not have any wiring issues or fire hazards.

There is a formula: Watts/12v = amps

Example: one purchases a 300 watt LED light bar....
300/12 = 25 amps!!! Thick 12 gauge wiring is STILL inadequate to power that light bar without the risk of a wire meltdown if just running direct without a relay!!

Here's a Quick chart:

Gauge.....capacity
12ga........20 amps
14ga....... 15 amps
16ga....... 10 amps
18ga........ 7 amps
20ga........ 5 amps
22ga....... 3 amps

WHEN you use a relay, the relay and internal coil & contacts will take the amperage draw.... NOT your switch or switch wiring. Most automotive relays are 40 amp rated. The relay will take the load and it's ONLY milliamperes that will go thru your switch and switch wiring. This will NEVER change if you use a relay. ... Plus you can also use your "power in" as a "trigger wire".

Using a relay is the safe way to wire your accessories, especially higher amp draw type of lighting. And yes.... each switch should have their very own relay.
It does make more wires in your engine compartment, but again it's the correct and safe way to wire up your accessory lights.

(If you start running 4 or more sets of lights, then a great addition is the KustomFX fuse center panel to centralize all your relays and inline fuses).

In the meantime, I did a quick YouTube video of my 6 switch panel and examples of how a relay can make life easier!
