any one know a reliable place to have a little work done in the Fort Belvoir area, noticed a leek from my Diff, Ford is replacing the rear pinion seal under warrantee, but theres also a broken bolt (bottom one) on the rear diff cover. attempted to use an extractor but yeah the extractor snapped off so now its a broken bolt and extractor (hardened steel) that i need to have drilled out.

You are not going to drill out a hardened steel easy out.. I would remove the cover and just seal it with ultra black RTV.

thats originally had done when i purchased the truck and saw it had a busted bolt. but with it being the bottom bolt it ended up leaking any way. i have an after market G2 cover I'm planning to install next week, and i picked up a lubelocker gasket plan to use the RTV on both side of the lubelocker gasket around the bottom and hopefully that will take care of the leek. if not ill have to find a shop or attempt to grind it out with my dremel

A good shop near ft belvior is equipment works Inc. They do mostly heavy truck repair but also smaller trucks. They're over off of newington road. Near the DMV select and advanced auto tech. The address is 8192 newington Rd

Soak it with croil or another product like it and try a left hand bit on it. It probably won't even have to drill it out. As soon as that bit grabs it should thread out
