I was coming home from the lake the other day and saw they had a nice car show there. Pulled in and turned around to get my son out of his car seat and he was asleep. Didnt wanna wake him so we went home.

I thought about buying my truck there, but figured it was too far for service appt's. They usually have a nice selection of Super Dutys there, but few 1/2 tons. Can def. tell youre in farming country.

Default Looking for experienced mechanic for 5.4 L engine problems

Hello, I'm new to the forum and No. Virginia (Alexandria).
Day after Christmas, my truck shut down coming home from hunting.
Oil pressure light warning came on and in less than 1/2 mile, the truck shut down. Mechanic at Wiygul looked at it and immediately recommended a new engine.
I need an experienced, trustworthy mechanic ideally in Alexandria. The engine was low on oil, but only down by 2.5 quarts. The engine will start now after it told them to do an engine flush and oil change, but oil pressure is staying too low, and the engine has a nasty knocking.
After reading tons of posts on this site, I think I have an issue that the timing has been thrown off, possibly by something breaking in the Variable Control Timing, or the camshaft.
I'm hoping there is no engine damage. I have a hard time believing the engine needs to be replaced, it was running fine that morning.
If anyone has any insight or a mechanic shop to recommend, please let me know.

New here from Richmond. I am trying to find some areas and some people that would be interested in hitting up some off road trails. Nothing too extreme because my truck is stock and also has 7,000 miles lol, but I would love to get off the pavement for a day and have some fun
