Yeah, I live in the area, about 2mi west of hurlburt field, like 10 min from Eglin. Was stationed on Eglin back in the 80's as a F15 weapons loader. Was stationed at Hurlburt field last 1991 thru 2001 retired now. What you looking to do when you get here?

Wow that's awesome! It'd be great to be stationed down South. I have never been to Florida, so I'm not sure what there is to do in the town.

Well, you are going to have to visit the beach here then, sugar white sand, emerald green water, really nice. I don't go to the beach anymore since I been down here so long got beached out. Lots of stuff down here tho, got a place bout an hour north called bogs and boulders for 4 wheelin', i've never been but my jeep buddy talks about it all the time. Theres deep sea fishing charters, dolphin watching cruises, jet ski rentals, sail board rentals, parasailing. And since this is a tourist trap, lots of local bars and eateries. Do a search on "The emerald coast" and you'll find tons of stuff. I don't get out much at the moment, but if you want to hookup for some bulling and maybe a beer and shootin' some pool or darts, or I could show you where the beaches are and a couple of hot spots.

Welcome to The Redneck Riviera of LA(Lower Alabama). I think you will dig it, great fishing in the Gulf and lots to do. The white sand beaches are amazing.-Ditto what FL F150 said. You kinda missed the tourist season, which can be good or bad. Rent a boat on Eglin (not sure if you can on Hurbie) and check out Crab Island on the weekend. There are a few popular bars on Okaloosa Island and Destin. I'm in Niceville(Bluewater Bay). Or head the other direction(West of Hurbie) to P-Cola and check out the Air museum.

FL f150, I've been hanging out at Anglers all weekend watching the games, pretty nice in that area, we r staying in Niceville, cool little town. Going to Hell and Back tonite, trying to get over to Hogs Breath, heard it was an A10 bar, which I'm a crew chief on so I figured I should check it out lol. If any of y'all wanna get together shoot me a pm so we canals plans!

I live 4 miles west of the hurlburt gate. Great place. I worked in niceville on the eglin reservation. And mowed all the roads in okaloosa and Santa rosa county before I went to basic. I'll be back at hurlburt in 5.5 months after tech school.

You'll love it.
