Anyway...I just had my service done at Morries Buffalo Ford since it's just down the road from me and we bought it there. I was fairly unimpressed overall with their service. The service manager, while he was only doing his job, made sure that he treated me like I knew nothing about the truck and basically told me that everything was normal when we both knew that it wasn't. Still...having gone to Tousley when their previous SM was there, I was used to them being candid about issues they saw with vehicles and being honest when it was Ford creating obstacles. In this case, at Morries, the SM pretended like nothing was wrong and made sure he protected Ford when I brought up the TSB's that covered the issues I was experiencing (minus the build date of course).

My oil change for 7.8 quarts was $45.xx for full synthetic using the buy happy coupons. Seems like a lot to me but whatever. It surprises me they charged you that much, but it doesn't surprise me they took that long. The first time I brought my truck in for an oil change they turned me away and told me to make an appointment because a number of their techs hadn't shown up for work. It didn't make me comfortable to go back...but...it was about convenience and buy happy. Besides...if they screw up...they screwed up with the wrong guy...and they'll soon be finding that out after this last service appointment.

Honestly...as much as I was disgusted with how AutoNation (formerly Tousley) treated us when we tried to buy a truck with them...I truly believe their service department is one of the best in the metro. They're just too far away from me now.
Gopherman, Morries Minnetonka charged me $27 for full synthetic with the Buy Happy coupon, granted it was only 6 quarts for my 2.7.

Now I bring my own oil (2 jugs of Mobile One) and they don't charge me anything with the coupon. It also helps make sure they don't overfill the 2.7.

For now I'm running Motorcraft Full Syn...it's good to know they're willing to do that though. I would hope that extra two quarts wouldn't add 20 dollars...but who knows. Maybe I'll do my next one in Minnetonka just to see.

As for the sales manager at Morries Buffalo, I'm typically slow to put trust into anyone, not saying he gained mine completely or hardly at all for that matter, but his attitude/demeanor made me feel like he was honest and wasn't out to screw anyone. In the end, that's what earned my business, not the sales rep I was working with.

Couldn't agree more about the sales manager - If I recall correctly he was an older gentleman and I got the sense that he was at a point in life where he sincerely/genuinely wanted to help people and see them happy, wasn't at all focused on money or making the sale. He also came across as someone with high integrity.

Yep, that's the guy. While we were buying ours, I was getting somewhat frustrated with what a number of dealerships were offering us for our 2015 with 2xxxx miles. The numbers were all over the place...what was a 56K MSRP truck was worth anything from 36K to 42K (we bought it used for 41 and only put 3K miles on it). Morries originally offered me 38500 and I said, no way. I went into the dealership and that sales guy was clearly not wanting to spend anymore time on it when the sales manager came out, talked to me for a bit and finally said, ya know what...here's the deal. He showed me the stuff they use to determine trades and pricing. Not only was the truck we bought (the 2016) heavily discounted (MSRP 63K marked at 53500), but I saw that they were already losing money (he didn't point it out, I saw it) offering me what they were assuming they could sell our trade for 40000. To my surprise, he says...how about this (in hopes we would buy accessories, warranty, and always have our vehicles serviced at Morries)...same 53500 price, but we'll give you 40500 for your trade. It was a done deal. He saw that we had gone through some trouble with our last one and truly wanted to earn our business. We talked about stuff for about an hour before this happened...nothing about the truck. So yeah...it was a breath of fresh air after having gone through the BS with our last truck and the BS of trying to trade it in for a new one at the other dealerships. I do think he genuinely wanted to help...being an older gentleman who probably sees young families come through the door everyday, he probably realizes there's more to life than screwing your customer.

Anyway...I was satisfied with the sales experience (other than finance as mentioned earlier) because of the sales manager. As for service, I was somewhat surprised when I had an unpleasant visit with them awhile back, they reached out to me a week or so later to say "We want to make this right." So we'll see how this next appointment goes in a couple of weeks. I'll summarize once I have my truck back. I'm starting to think one of their employees is a member on this forum.

Nice, great info for folks to consider when checking out dealers.

Definitely keep us posted on how the next service appt goes, hopefully they get everything taken care of for you this time.

This thread helped me out when shopping for my 2016, so I thought I'd chime in and recommend Rich A. at Autonation in White Bear. I can't speak for their service department, but Rich took great care of me before, during and after the sale. Even offered to order me dinner when their finance department was moving slowly. I've also purchased from Apple Ford in Shakopee and had a decent experience. I shopped around at North Country Ford and had a hard time getting anybody to give me the time of day, so despite their vast inventory, I left!

Thanks for passing along the info. Good to know. I also can speak highly of Autonation, specifically their parts department. I wrote about it in a separate post (limited steering wheel upgrade). Their customer service was first rate!
