Lower Lafitte has been getting hit real bad since Hurricane Juan in 1985. We have friend's down there who evacuated for Isaac. One stayed because he's a fireman at the lower Lafitte firehouse. Hate to see those people get hit again.

I've been assigned down there the past few days. I have a friend that works for the JLPD. It tough to see this again. I was down there for Gustave in our International trucks.

The levees that protect lower Lafitte also retain the water after the floods. I guess they're trying to pump it out now. I'm getting ready to head to Larose for my oldest daughter's birthday. Be careful down there!

They brought in three large pumps yesterday. Have a lot of debris to clear as well.
