Well y'all, it's back to the **** for my family and I. Just got the slate notification that we'll be transferring to Belle Chasse! We lived there from '06 to '10 and we're coming back. Probably living in base housing at the Air Station.

See y'all around the boiling pot!

Welcome back...I was in the Air Guard in Belle Chasse from 1969 to 1975. Lived 2 blocks before the back gate for 32 yrs before moving to Mathews in Lafourche Parish. You won't believe the changes in the past few years. Unfortunately the tunnel and the bridge are still there and are the biggest problem along with the traffic that I don't miss.

Toot the horn when ya drive by, you have to go right past my house to get where your going, on the other side of Terry Pkwy however. Pay no attention to all the construction, some sort of beautification project going on.

Looks like we dodged a bullet with Hurricane Nate. Spent the last two days securing things at the camp in Grand Isle and at my house just in case the storm came more in our direction. Now to get the storm shutters opened up and the patio furniture out of the garage. Two boats and a Ranger crew need to be hauled back down to the camp. Thankfully it was more of a practice run then anything...hope the people in Mississippi and Alabama get everything cleaned up quickly...could have been a lot worse.

We've had worse rain storms than that piddle of a hurricane, sporadic rain and not much wind. West side of the storm is always weakest.
