Well I got the dreaded call this morning, Topeka Transmission said it was internal, and 1100-1200 for a rebuild. I have the AODE trans. I just got the thing, and I don't have that kind of money and won't for some time so now I am in a pickle. a Hughes master rebuild kit is 400 at Summit... might learn to do it myself. Car Parts has one here in Topeka from a 1990 for $300.... I have options, just a bitter pill to swallow.

That transmission is not one to learn on if you have not been in one before. Specialty tools for it cost $300ish as well.

If you want to buy a used transmission and need help to swap it let me know, send me a pm with your contact information and VIN or specs and I can try to come up with a used one as well.

Until I get my trans fixed up I am relegated to the Topeka area. She won't go faster then 40-45mph so a drive to kc would be extremely painful and probably ill advised.

I was mistaken, I have the AOD transmission, not the AODE. Does that make a difference in rebuilding?
