Default Portland area snow

Who is having fun in the snow? I'm riding on the Goodyear Wrangler tires that came with my truck and so far having zero issues. 4x4 and locking the rear axle.

Locking the rear axle seems a bit much.

I was driving on back roads with over a foot of snow, on all season tires. It's a nice option when hill climbing.

I'm in Hood River, and swapped tires for the Cooper Discoverer M+S in 275/65r18. Loving them. I've driven the Gorge several times right before they closed it... it was still harrowing, but the tires & truck are great. Also went up in the forest in over a foot of snow and that's the only time I used the locker and 4wd. Didn't get stuck, so that's all that matters.

Running Toyo AT2 and i have zero complaints, been performing well in all the snow days we've had. I used always buy MT tires for all my trucks but I rarely ever offroad anymore just simple muddy, rocky and rutted trails for fishing. Anyhow, these tires have done well in all conditions for me, also helps to have the factory LSD.

Tried driving up some snowy hills over the weekend without locking the rear axle. Much slower going, truck really felt like it was reducing the power to the wheels in an attempt to get traction. I'll stick with locking the axle from here on out when it comes to snowy and icy hills.

Just be careful on anything off camber! Back end will end up in the ditch quick. I ran a full time locker in k falls in college. Had a blast with the full time locker in 2wd but got in trouble a few times as well!
