You may be able to get some biking in on a few of them, but mostly walking. There are a lot of bike trails in and around great falls as well. It's going to be even harder now to find a trail without being smothered by smoke. This has to be one of if not the worst year for fires in my lifetime. There is at least one fire in every forest in montana right now it seems like. The smoke is thick enough here to cover some of the taller buildings in town right now as well. So stay hydrated, be careful whatever you do, and bring a mask just in case you have a hard time where you are at.

That's what I've been stuck doing. I bought a new Raft to take out on the missouri for float/fishing trips. Haven't even put it in any water yet because its been so smoky, it wouldn't be enjoyable at all. Hoping we get an early snow to help cool and calm everything, and will have to put the boat away until next year :[ Hunting season this year may be a little weird too, considering deer are getting moved around a ton.

I'll be in Billings in October hunting antelope.

Mostly, but there have been a few grass fires around Billings, too. It's not nearly as smoky here as it is further west, but especially at dawn and dusk it's quite visible.

Well, went elk hunting with my cousin (I just tagged along to camp and fish). Saw a ton of elk, busty couldn't get up on them. The drive in was a bit of a mess.
it was so muddy that the boat tires wouldn't even spin they were so clogged with mud and my tires would just spin in placfe with no traction. Truck almost overheated a few times so had to stop yo let it cool down. Turns out when you're dragging 3000lb thru mud in 4wd while at a constant 3k rpm and only going 10, the tranny heats up quick.
