Austin Area Bodyshop
Hey all, I am looking for a body shop not afraid of aftermarket mods in the Austin area. Does anyone have experience with repairs on a modded truck?
Last month, my front bumper met a deer. I have tried 2 Caliber Collision locations, and both 'refused the repair.' I believe that my insurance (Farmers) has a relationship with them, and something about how they exchange information about repairs dissuades them from working on trucks with aftermarket parts, or so I am told.
The truck is a '22 Raptor; aftermarket on the nose consists of a Cobb intercooler (ofc relocated to the upper grille), Swarfworks hidden winch plate and 10k winch, and BD triple lights in each fog pocket. To me, that seems pretty light in terms of mods to deal, but I am an enthusiast so..
Farmers has offered to send me a check for the initial estimate and then have me take it to a shop to supplement when I find one. I'm tempted to pull the winch and plate out as well as the lights and try taking that in. I think they may be afraid of pulling that.
Anywho, TIA.
