Tires for Canadian Weather
Time to finally ditch the OEM (275/55/20) - Pirelli Scorpion AT's, if you can really even call these tires!
I am way too lazy to be changing out tires every winter so looking to get a good year round tire. Seems like the new thing is all weather (with the triangle and snowflake) and not all season.
I really never off road but would like to get an AT tire that looks like a truck tire and performs all year. Gas mileage and wear is not a big concern as changing them every 3 or so years will work, so performance is the key.
Went to Kal Tire and they seem to just try to push the Nokian Rotiiva on me and the other places I went too seemed to like to push the BFG Ko2's.
Any thoughts on the BFG's...wondering how they ride and sound?

Thanks Ricktwuhk those threads offered some good info. This is my first truck and first set of rubber shoes to replace my OEM tires. I guess the only question I really have left is about gas mileage.
Would you really notice that much difference in gas mileage running on the KO2's over the A/T Pirelli Scorpions that my truck came with? Or am I clueless?
Thanks

KO2s are a heavy 10 ply tire compared to the stock 4 ply. So yes, they'll get worse fuel economy.
Don't fall for the all weather propaganda. Yes, they are slightly better than a regular all season but are nowhere near comparable to a dedicated winter tire.
KO2 is snowflake rated, I've used them on my truck in the winter, and they're a bit better than the average all season tire, but nowhere near as good as the winter tires we use on our parts delivery truck.

I believe the tire is an 8 ply if that's what the D means in the code (LT275/55R20/D 115 S)
I also fully understand they are not a dedicated winter tire, as first stated I'm too lazy to change out tires.
When people say worse fuel economy are we talking 20% or 30% or more or less as an average?
I am asking only because I am new to trucks and have no clue. My payments are finished and I want to take my $800 a month and buy some upgrades now
